Our Pastor, Rev. Meindert Joostens, by birth
finds his roots in the "Article 31 Churches" in the
Netherlands. He immigrated with his parents to Southern
California in 1958, where he would make his home with his family
until he entered seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan, in
1970. He received his education at Redlands Christian School
and Graduated from Redlands High School in 1966, and
subsequently, from the University of California (Riverside) in
1970.
After his first year of seminary, he married his sweetheart of
four years, Beverly DeYoung, and settled down, raising a family
of five children in the Grand Rapids area. He graduated
from seminary in 1973 and took his first charge to Faith
Protestant Reformed Church in Jenison, Michigan. He
pastured this flock for five years and took a call to First
Protestant Reformed Church in Grand Rapids, where he stayed for
17 years until moving to Lynden, Washington in 1995.
Our Pastor continues to preach to his congregation here, in the
Lynden Fellowship Reformed Church. He is a blessing to us
with his Reformed preaching and teaching to this small flock,
located here in Lynden. |
